It is November 24th on Kauai. My day started with two papayas from our trees for breakfast, a cup of coffee from fields less than five minutes from our home, and a wonderful "apple banana" picked up at this weeks Hanapepe Sunshine Market. When Daniel arrived we enjoyed a cup of coffee and "consumed" the beautiful morning light, listening to birds celebrating a new day and the cacophony of roosters as they vocalized their territorial imperative. The skies were blue, the scattered clouds were cotton balls, and the temperature was somewhere in the low 70's. Daniel went outside and picked a fresh guava to enjoy prior to us beginning our trek.
Our stroll today was accented by exclamatory remarks and embellished with positive energy we received from the shared realization regarding how very fortunate we are to live in this incredible Garden of Eden. As a result of this "energy borne of beauty", the pace was strong and our four miles of time melted into surprise at how quickly the walk was over. It was a good day.
We "wrapped it up" with refreshingly cool coconut water and Daniel went home to spend some beach time with his family. I walked my yard and looked at the beautiful display of orchids and other flowering beauties we are currently enjoying. It is November 24th on Kauai.
There are so many beautiful places on our collective home .. Mother Earth. Such diversity .. such wonder. There is a special place meant to cradle and nourish each and every person. Perfect in its balance.
After walking the yard, I came to my computer and started going through photos I've taken over the last few years. One photo caught my attention .. just as the scene of that photo had captured and captivated me while driving south from Lyon to visit friends in the Vaucluse. The message was powerful and I drove ever so slowly in order to find the perfect angle to capture its essence.
A picture is worth a thousand words. I won't attempt to improve upon the image with more verbiage than necessary. I believe the caption says it all.
I beg each of you ... please do what your heart dictates in regard to loving our "Mother Earth". She is fragile and easily disrupted. Our Sons & Daughters and their Sons & Daughters are counting on us. When they fall to their knees to kiss Her in gratitude, let's make certain they don't arise with Dirty Lips ...
