There's no place like Home ...

Looking down at my feet while walking today, I thought of heels clicking together and recalled that famous movie line "There's no place like home".  Not so far down the path I also remembered another phrase that might sound familiar ... "Home is where the heart is" and my mind began running.  One "Wonder" of this time in history is the miracle of travel, placing us in new locations half way round the world in less time than it took a Conestoga Wagon to travel a mere twenty miles ..  just little over one hundred years ago.  Because of this fantastic development, the human family may well have the chance of understanding one another and finally building sociological inroads that will dissipate those fears that plague us and continue to create negative reactions.  I am one who feels we are on the path to harmony.  Travel is not only good .. it is an absolute necessity in our modern world.  We must know one another .. appreciate and relish the differences that can be molded into one amazing Human Family .. Oh that I can live long enough to see it happen.  I do know it will happen one day, but in the meantime, I'll be content to travel and call many places "Home".  Isn't home a place we all feel protected, nurtured, peaceful, and comfortable to relax and let our guard down?  And isn't there more than one place in our lives that fits those criteria.  I know there are several for me.  Whether I'm standing on the deck of my Fathers home in Colorado, watching and listening to the San Juan River run by,  gazing out the bedroom window of my dear friends home in Paris,  breathing the fresh desert air of Las Vegas from my Mother and Stepfathers home, or residing in our 1941 Gem on beautiful Kauai .. I can truly say I am home .. nurtured, loved, at peace, and comfortable.  I suggest no matter where you go .. if your heart is there, you are home ...
