I received the following question from a friend in Paris this morning ..

"What do you think of your new President?"

I knew it was coming, but I hadn't given much thought to a response.
After much meditative time, I decided my response must be true to who I am.

Dear Readers ..
no matter where you reside ..
no matter what your personal philosophy is ..
no matter what political stance you take ..
I offer this to you with Love ..
I offer this to you with Hope ..
I offer this to you in firm belief that goodness will triumph ..
belief that Humankind will find our way to cooperative existence ..

Together

I hereby "unzip" myself and offer My Stance for all to view ..

The following is my "Reply to Bruno" ..

Bruno .. After giving much meditative thought to your question about the new president .. I respond by saying I love Humanity and I intend to continue being a voice for Higher Principles, which will eventually rise above the politics of Mankind. True power is within each individual and cannot be altered by any outside force. I refuse to let politics dictate my personal path and my reality .. I am in charge of my destiny. This thinking transcends greed, anger, violence, and all other negativity associated with what is currently happening on our shared planet. I am a Utopianist .. knowing we can have a New World when all beings connect with, and follow, the dictates of their Inner Voice .. their Higher Inner Selves. I know I stand with very few in this belief, but some of us must continue to plant the seed of Higher Purpose if it is ever to grow. So, Bruno, politics is not in my répertoire. I'm not qualified to judge another man. All I can do is attempt to be the best man I can be and bring light and happiness to my fellow humanoids as a result of my own happiness.

Water Lily ..
look at you ..
regal upon placid surface.

Where did your beauty originate?
What spawned such perfection?
Is it true .. what I've heard?

Did your seed lie dormant
awaiting this short burst ..
this colorful blast bestowed upon viewers?

Did you dwell in freezing water ..
surrounded by darkness ..
deaf to all sound?

Were you angry?
Did you feel angst?
Was hopelessness your companion?

It seems a miracle ..
from putrid feces infested water
is borne such an undeniably perfect gift.

Up and out you've come ..
defying darkness .. ingesting filth ..
emanating light.

Your existence explains hope ..
defies negativity ..
glorifies patience.

Thank you, water lily ..
from your example
appears clarity of vision ..

I can now draw ..
draw from the deep well of experience ..
dine upon my own putrid feces infested water.

I will be nurtured by past
propelled by hope
sustained through patience

Knowing one day ..
like water lily ..
my flash of brilliance will emerge .. my gift ..

Totality

Can it be,
as appears to me,
Love has sweet aroma?

For knowledge thus
I must confess
no suitable diploma.

I shall be schooled ..
Aye .. Golden Ruled .. by Hibiscus ..
lovely flower.

Fragile beauty ..
undeniably rare ..
bedazzled in dew by showers.

The lesson to learn
from that glorious plant
is true and so revealing.

One would think,
from petals soft and rare,
perfume would leave you reeling.

As in love ..
as in life ..
perfect beauty we don't always see

Hibiscus is rare
to the sight none compare
but for nose .. nothing will be.

So sniff them all ..
large and small ..
it's a quest fun and free.

But pluck no flower
until the moment
when your eyes and nose both agree.
