Viagra and the Empty Chairs

Lawn chairs are placed strategically around our yard, just in case the perfect moment for contemplation and relaxation might present itself. I wonder how many perfect moments I squandered last year .. how many in my lifetime? Before leaving home tomorrow morning I will take a seat in one of the empty chairs you see in the photo above. Upon my return, I will once again take a seat in an empty chair, where I will contemplate, relax, and attempt to capture that perfect moment.

One positive action that will certainly happen while sitting in a lawn chair tomorrow is giving some love to Baby and Vicious Bitch. Our two Kitty Katastrophies are certain to appear the moment I lower myself onto the seat .. likely surprised I haven't continued to the car and abandoned them for a few hours. There is also positivity in the beauty and calm of the morning .. enhanced by soft filtered light and bird songs that seem custom tailored for early sittings only. Evening brings it's own gift as the light of day dissipates .. leaving me with a calm feeling unique to the warm softness of twilight.

Yes, the decision is made .. tomorrow I consciously make the effort to occupy.

No longer do I pass by the lonesome plastic yard sentinels.

No more squandered moments.

You may be wondering what Viagra has to do with two plastic lawn chairs, contemplation, relaxation, and gifts we might receive for sitting and watching the world go by. Viagra hasn't got one damned thing to do with it .. I just liked the Title:

No doubt my title idea came while sitting in the yard, stroking a cat, contemplating, relaxing, and capturing that perfect moment. Possibly you have that place .. that special place where you are elevated and enriched by thoughts enjoyed while capturing your perfect moment. I know it's cliché', but there is only today and our chairs are waiting. I hope each of you will take time to sit and capture a perfect moment in your special place ...

In our yard, you don't have to walk many steps in any direction before finding a chair or bench (or a collection of them for friendly chats when neighbors wander over). My favorite is a wooden chair which reclines so I can watch the tops of the tall loblolly pines as they sway and "sigh"…. occasionally spotting an osprey. I think I mostly daydream; contemplation would take much more of and effort. Keep up the good work and give Baby and Vicious Bitch my best!

Cynthia .. sounds like you have a wonderful place to contemplate life from. I love Ospreys .. what beautiful birds they are, and your wooden chair mention reminds me of years ago in my Grandparents yard with those old wooden chairs with the huge flat arms. Thanks for mentioning these things .. you've rekindled some grand old memories! Mahalo et Merci

Sally .. glad you enjoyed it! That title was prompted by a television commercial .. as was the disclaimer at the end. Why don't "they" just tell it like it is ..

P.S. Did you take the photo at the end of your blog? It is beautiful….all the shades of green in the foreground with the grey mountains in the background and the magnificent clouds and sky. It could easily be a postcard. Mahalo.

Oh--Thank Goodness!! When I read the title I was aghast! "What is this Billy doing? Is he allowing his self to sink into the depths of sensationalism?" The empty chairs made me think of one of the commercials - the very one you thought of , no doubt. I pondered a bit before reading! I wondered! But, here it is, a fun, smile-giving blog with the great glint of humor that he so enjoys. I can just hear you chuckling, Billy,as the keys explode.

I waited a day to open this blog post! With that title you gave me time to contemplate, so thanks for that!!! I should have known I would be laughing by the end of reading your blog.

I try to remember everyday to really look around me and "see" everything. Funny how we just go about our day and never even realize what a beautiful world we live in.

Now, why didn't I think of adding Viagra to my Umpteenth Second Honeymoon story? And, to think that I was going for whales and jacuzzi tubs to be the clincher!! Next time I will call you for ideas. I really need to do a Hawaii story down the line somewhere anyway. Your last photo is outstanding!!!

The Wyland photo in my story is actually of a warehouse at Destin, Florida. I have seen the mural you mentioned though, many years ago. I need to try to put together my old pictures from that trip. It was wonderful. I have some of the Wyland photos from Destin on my Facebook now.
