awakening to perform
another day similar to yesterday?
Striving to surpass yesterday's accomplishment?
Attempting to elevate the past above and beyond its redundancy?
Do our hearts beat
to merely propel us forward ..
reiterating duplicated and mundane actions?
Swelling our egotistical selves as we proclaim doing the same .. but better?
Are we trapped within smug human success while our true gifts remain suppressed within?
Will our spirits look back
upon life spent toiling to better another's accomplishments ..
upon fantastic dreams unfulfilled and decimated by ego driven desires ..
upon a barren landscape of forsaken creativity and squandered gifts of brilliance?
We can realize and embrace our gifts .. sharing the joy of personal creativity with all beings ..
Only then can we respond ..
