Blame it on the Rain

January, February, and March ... these are the three months rain is most likely on the Garden Island.  I am a fan of January, February and March.  How wonderful it is to step outside and feel rain on your face with seventy five degree temperatures.  Short sleeve shirts in the rain .. really, what could be better ...  and what have I done to celebrate this special season .. ?

This blog hasn't had a posting in 15 days.  Oh my, what sort of dereliction to duty have I committed?  Is it possible I will sink into the depths of depression and sulk the days away as I bemoan my "writer's block" to anyone who will listen?  Shall I grow a scruffy beard, stare at my unkempt image in the mirror and inwardly scream to a higher power for strength in the face of adversity?
Hell no !!
I fully intend to continue smiling at anyone who will look, saying "Aloha" to anyone who can hear, and enjoying the complete freedom I have to write whatever and whenever I damn well feel like it.  Of course, it is the season of January, February, and March ... so if I get tired of smilin',  talkin',  and tryin' to write  ..  well, screw it ......
I'm gonna blame it on the rain!

from Kauai to Paris ... and all places between

Mahalo et Merci for standing a moment in the rain with me,
Bill

Bravo! I wish that I could have your gumption in face of the rain...and writers block come to think of it...those two tend to go hand in hand it is all too true.
Best Wishes from Provence,
Heather

Yes you can do whatever you want, that is the beauty of having your own blog!! We are also enjoying some much needed rain here in Phoenix with warm temperatures. I had an amazing talk with a man today that I didn't know. He saw me pick trash up and throw it away. He came over to me to say what a nice thing that was that I did and he wished more people would do that. He had a beautiful smile and very friendly dog. We chatted for awhile and when I walked away I had a big smile on my face and such warmth in my heart. That is what I get from your blog Bill. Thanks so much!!

Oh, Bill, I say go stand in the rain from time to time, there are no timetables here. What we do have, from time to time, are the thoughts of our Hawaiian ami and pictures of beautiful flora and interesting fauna, often of the kitty-cat, frog/toad variety to give us a chuckle. Chuckle good. Spring cometh here, all good that, after 24" of snow 2weeks ago. Freak out!

Pat, I wish you an early Spring and thank you for being there when my block rolls aside. I've said it before and I'll say it again "I have the most awesome, intelligent, and caring readers a guy could ask for". Mahalo et Merci

I,too, love the rain when the weather is warm and especially when it cools a hot summer day. "Kauai to Paris" was missed by me in my inbox, but you shouldn't be concerned or even think about time lapses between your postings....just write when a subject interests you and be glad that you have no deadlines to meet! I think this is your modus operandi anyway, isn't it? Thanks for the beautiful orchid photo. Best, Cynthia

Cynthia, you have certainly helped alleviate a little of my self imposed punishment .. and "Yes", I believe you may have a clear view of my operating method (or anti-method) .. I've never been much of a 9 to 5 sort of person. Mahalo et Merci for your supporting words .. Much appreciated!

Rain and seventy-five degrees sound like heaven to me! I love rain anyway....especially when it cools a hot summer day. Not that it matters, but I approve of your modus operandi. You have no deadlines or obligations attached to the writing of "Kauai to Paris". You can write for the joy it brings to you (and those who read it). Thanks for the lovely photo of the orchid. Best, Cynthia

In So. Cal, we've finally been blessed with a little rain. I love the rain and the ocean...two of my favorite water sports. How I look forward to enjoying both at the same time...see you soon:) End of April.

Hi Bill,
I suppose we can blame it on the rain if this comment drowns on the way through the internet. Those gorgeous flowers are enjoying it all. Pour another cup of coffee and let the rain drown out anything else for awhile!

"Howdy" Tex and thanks for the kick in the pants .. I might actually sit down and scribble because of this message. I see from your Aix post today you are suffering French Separation along with the rest of us. Hang in there .. It only gets worse ! :-) Hope you are getting settled into your new life in the Lone Star State. Thanks for taking a minute of your day to comment, Sara. Aloha, Bill

I certainly have missed your blog; didn't even get this last one, so I'm wondering whether there's an error with delivery? Hope all is well, Bill. That pic of the hibiscus is absolutely stunning; hope to take a few myself when we come to the big island in June. Why don't you pop by for a day? Will call you soon. a hui ho
