Forgiveness

When we awaken
our newly exercised stretch for improvement
is clearly reminiscent of flowers following the sun
inviting soft caress
 absorbing soothing warmth
imploring light to stimulate rejuvenating cleanse

If only it was so simplistic
absorbing solar solace
reveling in newfound reality
instantly casting off past idiocy
shedding vile skin bearing tattooed stories
tales of shameful acts done by what we were

All the while as growth occurs
charging through new self
race those naturally hopeful musings
hoping those who witnessed what was before
will embrace what is flower borne from thorn
 standing humbly in the sunlight

Bill, you are finding beautiful flowers and plants for your photography subjects. They must inspire your writing as well. For this blog entry I thought of another comparison in memorable words : "Take a lesson from the lilies of the field..." Very simple but very truthful. Maybe I'm too serious, but keep on sending those gorgeous photos with your words, of course. All the best, Debbie

Yes, Debbie .. we can learn so much from the nature around us. We are, after all, the only species who create imbalance. It is a very serious subject, and one we should all be focusing on. Thank you for your part in creating awareness!

Good morning, Bill. I am reminded by your thoughtful words how it’s often easier to forgive others than to forgive ourselves. Finding ways to nourish our inner life and move on is an ongoing journey. Onward & upward, my friend!

Good Morning, Patty! Oh yes, self loathing seems to be an integral piece of the awakening process. i suppose we are becoming worthy of forgiveness by others when we become disgusted by our own inadequacies and past misdeeds. Once awakened, we are also tortured by the need to be forgiven .. it is all a part of the ongoing process of attaining new heights. Thank you, Patty, for your ever present insight .. Onward and Upward indeed !!

Forgiving ourselves is always the hardest. We would not say the things to others that we say to ourselves at times. Nature helps nourish us in more ways than we can imagine.

Oh yes, Karen, I agree. Nature is the great healer and provider. It always amazes me how much simple walks in natural settings always clear the mind and rejuvenate the spirit. Our very existence and mental stability are dependent on being one with the nature of our world. Thank you for your insight on this subject!

Mahalo, Merci, y Muchas Gracias,
Bill
