Magic Comes

Karen .. Peace indeed. Accepting life as it is given to us .. enjoying every moment of breath .. happily anticipating the next moment. And one of the greatest moments in my life is receiving comments from wonderful people like you! By the way, Darlene and I visited friends in Tucson recently and fell in love with the place. I understand why you live in Arizona! So good to hear from you!

Yes Arizona is a beautiful state. Of course, I must admit today at 112 degrees and getting warmer yet it is not my favorite time but as in life we have to be okay when things go our way and when they don't.

Yes, 2016 has been a really challenging year for both of us so far, Bill. But I know that for my part I am learning so much...it seems as though you are as well. I would add to your poem that we have ripened first when we are prepared to give such wonderful gifts to ourselves and then to others. That is the path I am currently on...trying to learn how.

Just from reading "Kauai to Paris" for several years, I know that you are a kind, caring and generous person. I am sorry about the difficult time you had the first part of this year ... remember, as Heather wrote, to be the same kind of person to yourself as you are to others.

Cynthia .. Thank You for these uplifting words. As I suspect you already know, the first part of 2016 was both devastating and positive. Devastating to undergo an extreme physical trauma .. even more so to say "Farewell" to my Father. The "positive" appeared as a result of these two "trials" .. strengthening my conviction to continue the pursuit of living my gifts .. living my passion .. and in doing so, naturally giving to others as a result of the happiness I obtain from listening to inner voice "truths" received from that higher place .. that God voice. The difficulties have further strengthened my empathetic and compassionate self .. implanting an even stronger "drive" than I was experiencing before. Those of you who read me are the proof .. I am only blessed by your readership because of the truths I am seeking. What a gift all of you are .. what a wonderful gift.

You are speaking for a lot of us with your heart-felt words, Bill. I know you are a warm, generous and kind person. I've been around your blog long enough to see how deeply you feel for others and the world about you.

TI was the lucky recipient of your loving kindness when I was in the hospital, totally blown away by my heart surgery, wondering if I'd ever get back to normal. Your telephone call was such a boon for me, such a surprise! It was very magical. You dug deep to reach out and find me and I thank you so much. Again. Wow.

I know that I withhold my true self, that I do not show up in the ways I could which would offer me the chance to live more truly, more purposefully. More compassionately. Less reactively, for pete's sake!
I ignore those opportunities (some, quite simple) to stop the merry-go-round and come in for a landing on my meditation cushion. My practice is half-hearted even when I KNOW the value and benefit that is available. Habits, laziness, preoccupation, distractions abound. Enuf, already.

So today, I will again heed the call that is offered via your post to rededicate myself to the path. Thank you for your encouragement, for your honesty and willingness to be open -- you remind us about the mattermost.

My condolences to you, Bill, and your family, on the passing of your dear Father. I hope all the beautiful memories of life with him will help to sustain you now. I also hope that you are healing and growing in strength after your physical ordeal, whatever it was. Be well! Know that we are part of "your tribe," together in spirit, for sure! Love and blessings to you. Oh, and of course, the orchids are over-the-top beautiful!
