She breaths,
inhaling essence of each residing soul ..
She breaths,
exhaling brilliant flashes of creativity.

Paris,
kaleidoscope of humanity ..
higher and lower than imagined ..
darker and brighter than perceived.

She continues,
physical embodiment of our gifts ..
champion of illumination
piercing through darkness.

City of Light ..
stimulator of higher thinking ..
validator of progress ..
Masterpiece.

Fanaticism cannot prevail, yet it casts large dark shadows on civilization, as we saw in Paris last week. This destruction rattles the mind and weighs heavily on our hearts. I am compelled to renew my efforts to offer loving kindness to self and others, and believe compassion and love will trump hate and anger born from ignorance. Some days...it's tough to maintain.

And you, our blogging penman(!), you are countering the awfulness that spews with your lovely, gentle, and heart-felt offerings. Mille mercis, Bill! Every good thing matters.
