Cloudy day ..
French movie ..
soft musique française ..
poignancy defined.

Ventured outside the door ..
fed the cats ..
glanced at the world before
scurrying back to my hole.

Safe ..
Covered ..
Nourished ..
Insulated.

Wretched guilt ..
leave me!
Let me forget ..
ignore ...

... travelers who didn't buy tickets ..
wanderers who cannot return ..
beautiful souls ..
ravaged.

Be gone, Empathy!
Stop speaking so loudly ..
disturbing my comfort ..
fouling my meals.

And you, Compassion,
why infest me ..
disrupting my
happiness?

There is no peace ..
no relief.
Angst will rule
until all are comforted.

All humans ..
innately attached ..
spirit to spirit ..
soul to soul.

Escape is impossible ..
pain of one is pain of all.
This is our nature ..
our beauty.

The line "pain of one is pain of all" just hit me deep into my soul. If we all "felt" the pain of others maybe we wouldn't be so judgmental and be more willing to help and love.

JULES .. What can a man say in response to this .. Do you remember the Coyote in the cartoons when we were little .. not Wiley and the Roadrunner Coyote, but the other one .. the Coyote who would smell something overwhelmingly beautiful .. then float into the air with his feet wiggling uncontrollably, eyes closed, and bliss etched upon his face ... remember him?
