Captured on the path ..
afraid to proceed beyond its boundary.
Threatened by spine .. serpent .. heat ..
frozen in unknown terror.

Thrill of fear ..
majestic power beyond control.
Force of infinity
reveals my fragile human self.

Pockets with money ..
accolades recorded.
Worthless wealth ..
destructive ego.

Truth wins ..
reality the victor.
Nature waits forever ..
forever in control.

Captured on the path ..
melting smaller and smaller.
Grasping happiness at last ..
when joining light to soul.

True triumph ..
fear conquered.
Ego incinerated on blazing sandy soil ..
while I savor magic desert on new freedom wings.

Hi Karen! Yes, I'm in Tucson for one more day. My Son and I have been celebrating our birthday week together. I won't be in Phoenix on this trip, but I do own a place here and will return sometime in the future for another visit. I would love to meet you in person, so I will certainly contact you before the next trip.

Oh yes, Cynthia .. I have enjoyed the last week of life here in the beautifully inhospitable nature of the Sonoran Desert. Spring flowers are blooming and the weather has been picture perfect. Thank you, Cynthia, for reading my desert treatise .. I so appreciate you and Karen stopping by and taking a moment to make this man feel special.

Thank you for the compliment, Kristi, you know it is valued and appreciated. Yes, today is my birthday and I'm enjoying the occasion in Tucson at our new desert digs. I've actually thought about you and Jean-Marc more than once since arriving. My Son and I did the Bear Canyon hike up to Seven Falls .. what a brutally magnificent slice of nature Tucson "lives" in. Springtime in the desert is everything you probably remember .. beautiful flowers, green trees, and thorns .. thorns to remind us Nature is Boss. So very nice hearing from you, Kristi .. please extend my heart felt "Hola's" to JM (hope he got my message for his BD) and your wonderful Mother .. the inimitable light source known as JULES.
